Album Notes

The Gullible Quahogs formed in 1980 during the height of the DIY New England rock explosion. Inspired by local heroes like Jonathan Richman and Mission of Burma, the Quahogs recorded music that sounds nothing like either. Nothing like anything you've heard really. Inadvertently anticipating lo-fi and noise movements by nearly a decade, Shell Shock has languised in obscurity for twice that long.

By turns driven, antagonizing, freewheeling and accidentally charming, Shell Shock transports the listener back to Robert's basement, Barrington, Rhode Island, 1982, usually at night.

Shell Shock is re-released here, digitally recorded but not re-mastered, in all of it's raw uh... rawness.
