This cd (and their other cd On Fire) is incredible! "Ass-Shakin Funk" is quite the accurate description. The fusion of juzz, r&b, funk, and rock simply warms my soul. keep it comin Gumbo Brothers, we need more intelligent music like this.

What The Funk...??

Where have these guys been hiding? This really is gumbo funk -- a spicy mix of many influences, tightly played and passionately delivered. This is one of the most refreshing finds of the year, and has remained in heavy rotation in my house and head. I would love to see these guys play live! There are a lot of performers who think they know what the Funk is all about, but they are usually wrong... this band has a direct high-bandwidth, high-energy broadband funk connection going on. This really is the real thing: Bootsy and George would be proud!

Can't stop moving

Funk!

Great playing. Great N'awlins flavoured funk. The vocals are a little weak, and the lyrics are sometimes cliche, but in the end its the playing that matters most, and this gumbo's hot!
