ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It all began with a phone call. I started meowing in the middle of "Wild Rover". Then I wrote my first cat song. Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers was born. The CD was wildly popular. Before I knew it I had people asking when I would release my next Cat CD. Sure, I had a few songs already written, but not enough for a second CD. I spent the next two years writing some songs and asking fans of the first album to submit some lyrics. The results are now here!

The album features twelve songs and two sets of Irish tunes. The songs are a mix of Irish and Scottish songs rewritten about cats. You'll hear songs about cats eating catnip, waking you up in the middle of the night, staring off into nothingness. You'll laugh as cats take over a dairy farm, splashing milk all over the place or a nice feline friendly twist to the Sylvester and Tweety Bird cartoon. Cats fight off canine pack recruitment and Harry Potter makes an appearance as does cat cloning. No really! It's twisted, but amazing fun.

The CD was produced by Celtic music lover, Rich Brotherton, and it shows. Whiskers in the Jar is an album of purrlicious fun for cat lovers everywhere.

Fun to listen to. Because of this album I am now looking at more Celtic music. It\'s a nice change of pace from other types of music to list to. Am not a cat owner, but enjoy the love felt for the beautiful animal.

Meooooooooowwwwww!
This is the second cat CD written by Marc Gunn and boy, does he hit one out of the park. I almost drove off the road to the tune of drunken sailor. This cd surpasses both the sound quality and humor quality of the first one. Buy two, one for yourself and one for any other cat lover out there.

Whiskers in the Jar
I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I heard the first song "What Shall We Do With a Catnipped Kitty" especially since I was a sailor for 23 years. And I kept on laughing with all parodies and cute songs. I have Marc's previous 2 "kitty" albums and have bought copies for my relatives. This Christmas they're getting "Whiskers in the Jar" to continue the collection. I hope Marc keeps on writing such witty music!

4 Paws Up!
I loved this song and so did my kitties. As soon as they heard a few notes, I was surrounded by furry friends anxious to listen to some great Irish music.

Whiskers In the Jar
Starting out with \"What Shall We Do With a Catnipped Kitty\", I feel like the little girl inside of me can\'t stop giggling! It\'s SO cute! Marc\'s vocals are impressively strong and resonate and are well-controlled. At the same time, the woman and former violin player in me can\'t stop appreciating the lovely complex string arrangements and the genuine tenderness shown towards the kitties and the other subjects in the songs. :) This is very uplifting music that is smartly silly and counterbalances the seriouslness and weights of life. This would appeal to children, to people with a sense of humor, to the elderly, and to people who appreciate quality music that is Celtic and strings-oriented. And of course, to those who love cats!! :)

Playful as a Kitten
Long having been a fan of both Celtic music and cats, this CD is pure heaven. Not only are the songs witty and fun to hear, but Gunn\'s voice is perfect for the rewritten old Irish pub songs and traditional tunes. The fact that every song has the same happy attitude about it makes it a great CD for kids, adults, anyone. It\'s fun and airy, sweet and cute.
