ntroducing the Gunpowder Treason, a five-piece hardcore band that has recently blasted onto the scene as one of the Southeast's premier heavy music groups. The Gunpowder Treason works hard week after week writing music that is aggressive yet contains lighter elements not typical to the hardcore genre. This June their first and highly anticipated EP, "To Those Ready" will be released independently. The combined production talents of Sophia guitarist Keith Richards and young engineering prodigy Jared Fox will be showcased on this precise yet living expression of the Gunpowder Treason's passion and dedication to the mission that has been laid before them.
Assembled in the spring of 2006, the Gunpowder Treason is composed of brothers converging from diverse musical backgrounds. Each member finds its roots in a different style of music; from folk to metalcore.
The lyrical content of the Gunpowder Treason's EP, "To Those Ready", aims to call those that have been prepared to fight the spiritual battle that rages around us to arise and take up arms (prepare themselves). The members of the Gunpowder Treason sincerely believe that all that we see is not all that exists; that there is a realm beyond our vision where a battle is raging for the souls of those that we know and interact with. This is why the members of the Gunpowder Treason play and travel across country; they are dedicated to raise awareness of this spiritual battle.
