Swing Theory is a very enjoyable CD. Included in the liner notes is an interesting explanation of swing as a distinct force of nature. Any of us moved by the irresistible force of swing music can testify to this conclusion. Most of the songs are familiar and well executed, with lots of swinging going on. "Looking for Someplace to Be", an original ballad by vocalist Everett Greene's brother, is the best new song I've heard in many years. Greene's smooth rendition has many goose bump moments, and Eric Schneider provides a sensational alto break. The rhythm section is solid throughout, and Wycliffe Gordon, well he's Wycliffe Gordon, enough said. Our host and leader for this upbeat session is Gust Spenos, a full time neurologist, and part-time tenor man, who has all his neurons and swingons focused for this CD. The result is a group of musicians enjoying the session and producing music that reflects their fun. Give it a listen, the fun is contagious!

I have had this cd for several months now and let me just say it is great!! This is Jazz at it's best.It's exciting to hear such a new sound. I must also say what a great price.
