great straight-ahead no-bullshit rock-n-roll record!

When I get in the mood for some great rock-n-roll, well written and well played, I jam out to Gutter Swans' CD, Foolishness Meets Vision. The most obvious comparison I could make would be The Old 97's, but there's also traces of Walter Clevenger and The Dairy Kings, The Georgia Satellites, Del Lords, etc. You get the idea -- straight-ahead American rock. What used to be called (is it still?) bar-band r-n-r.
Gnashville calls it 'Heavy Jangletwang music.' Hey, that works!
I love some of the (surprising?) subtleties in the songs, like "Hearing Voices." You'll recognize some strong opinions on "I Can Go On" (GREAT chorus!) Then there's the no-subtlety of "All Over You." Cool stuff, and if you don't have a copy yet, what are you waiting for?
