Album Notes
Canyon Storm is the musical creation of artists Gwain Nighthawk and Blake Octavian Blair.

Blake plays percussion throughout the album, both accompanying and complementing Gwain's engaging flute melodies. The songs on this album were played in a intuitive and improvisational style creating unique and lush soundscapes. Several guest artists accompany Gwain and Blake, lending their creative talents and flavors adding unique dimension to the album's sound.

The soundscapes created by the albums songs provide the listener catalyst for the vivid mental imagery, making the album perfect for meditation, journeywork, and the healing arts. The sound of the Native American style flute has a known soothing and healing quality, and the albums world percussive rhythms on rattles, Native American style frame drum, and Udu, accented by rainstick, Tibetan bowl, and nature sounds provide a connection with the elements that is healing to the spirit.

Escape Momentarily
Canyon Storm is just that: a loftily crafted mix of inner-voice and stigmatic enigma! I came across this recording whilst researching the emphatic importance of intuitive thought processes and the quality of such nobility; during my own reactionary clause for callused impurities upon self, within self, yet for self. Needless to say, this album was just the ticket!

Gwain Nighthawk has managed to capture the encapsulated spirits of hidden meaning, and embody their potent need for encompassing the accompaniment of cordial bliss. Although, void of voice, the music of Canyon Storm speaks volumes in and of itself! I cannot emphasize enough, the intoxicating mirth displayed within the cordially balanced inertia of songs such as the title-track and (especially, this reviewers personal favorite) Cedar and Ivory; almost quelling that cathartic, notional war between vitality and veracity.

Canyon Storm is unlike any other partial vestige, and to listen wholeheartedly would be to know thyself and the memory of yearning and learning. I highly recommend this compact disc to anyone willing to let go and meditate upon the experience of experiencing newness. Definitely a great way to start or end any day, and I look forward to hearing more from this artist in the (hopefully) near future!

Amazing Sounds
I purchased this cd after hearing Gwain's playing on youtube. I was not disappointed. I love Aqueous Aura and Rain Song. I generally use music to assist in relaxing me in the evening when I retire for the night. This album is wonderful to just start up, put on repeat and let it go. I love this cd and highly recommend it.

Awesome music
This has become my favorite music to listen to while driving during rush hour or when I get home after a long day of secular stress. Soft and deep rhythms that bring your senses down to a relaxing and comforting mood. Great for meditation! It is most definitely awesome music!

I bought two copies of this DC, one for myself and one as a gift, and I can honestly say that it was well worth the price! This is the most beautiful music, so relaxing and peaceful....I use it for when I am writing to keep the words flowing and the stress from building almost works too well, I just want to close my eyes and shut down the thinking! Gwain and Blake, well done!

Awesome Sounds
Recently, I was fortunate to meet both Blake and Gwain and pick up a copy of their CD Canyon Storm which they also autographed for me. I listened to it on the way home from Raleigh, loved it but couldn't really *feel* the music while driving. Today I'm feeling not as sick as the past 3 days and now have Canyon Storm playing on my surround sound. I am LOVIN the energy from this music!
