Simply irresistible best describes the phenomenally talented jazz vocalist Gwen Howard, affectionately known as Jazzy G. Gwen is a native of Los Angeles, California, and her formative years were surrounded in an atmosphere of traditional jazz and gospel music. She grew up admiring the legendary "Ladies of Jazz" such as Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughan, and Carmen McRae.

Being an avid fan of the late renowned singer, The Mr. O.C. Smith, Ms. Howard consulted with him for guidance pertaining to embarking on a career in music. She was then introduced to two extraordinary musicians, Mr. Del Atkins and Mr. Herman Jackson, who was the catalyst behind her forging ahead in numerous talent contests, demo recordings, live performances and the rest is now history in the making.

Ms. Howard has appeared on local cable television and radio programs as a guest performer and also appeared on the BET Jazz Discovery program. As a producer and director of the very successful
GH Productions "An Elegant Evening of Jazz" concert series, Ms. Howard has enthralled audiences with both her stage performance and production talents in creating this highly successful annual jazz event. A consummate professional, Ms. Howard has established a host of fans with her artistic promise and skillful approach to presenting quality entertainment. She has appeared center court with her band lead by her music director Mr. Del Atkins, along with the talented ventriloquist Aaron & Freddie and actor/singer Lee Duncan to name a few.

Ms. Howard's incredible vocal range and delivery facilitate her ability to take any jazz standard and make it her very own. From classic to contemporary, Ms. Howard is a jazz vocal masterpiece in the true spirit of the art form itself. She embodies all the elegance we admire of a female performer including her charismatic demeanor and alluring stage presence. Perhaps jazzy smooth may be the best description of Gwen Howard's vocal delivery and for certain her unique gift is artistically displayed as she captivates the heart of each listener.

Although Ms. Howard has been performing for audiences for well over a decade, she is a new talent on the jazz scene as a recording artist. Judging from her debut recording "Bathe Me in Candlelight" it is evident that this "Lady of Jazz" is certainly on the rise.
