Gregory William Haddow – Where I’ve Been © 2006
Surf music, melodic acoustic guitar, mellow mood setting music showcasing beautiful San Diego and its pristine coastline captured in tunes; my music sets the background for whatever you are doing: crusing, partying or engaged in your own mind-expansion...my tunes do not crowd the center stage of your life, but instead, help frame it. And as your ear catches the snappy melodic themes, you will hear a beautiful seascape to set-the-tone for your moment.
I created “Where I’ve Been” © 2006 for my wife Cindy (in whom I love endlessly), my family, and my friends, especially those on the Scripps Ranch Old Pros Surf Team. On this album the tune "Last Wave Today" © 2006, is also featured in the award winning film, "Shaken" (Lila Films, © 2006), a documentary about a unique Parkinson's treatment, written & produced by Deborah Fryer. When you listen to my material, think ocean breezes, San Diego sun, and just a great day surfing the crystal blue.
Enjoy!

My Story
I've been playing guitar since the 1960's. I recently started to record some of my tunes, burn a few samples, and then ask Devin to tell me which ones he liked. I gradually began to create more for him while he was enduring his long stay in the hospital. I also asked the guys with whom I surf (Keith, Ron, John & Kevin) from our Old Pros Surf Team for their opinion...so you will hear a throw back ‘60’s surf music “flavor” here and there...only acoustically crafted will mellow tones. Then our neighborhood of Scripps Ranch had this disastrous wild fire in 2003 that drove my writing toward a more acoustic quality because of the quiet powerful dimension of that tragedy. “Waves of Fire” © 2003 (my first album) contains tunes from that period. Then my nephew and Godson, Michael, was stationed in Iraq with the U.S. Army. I recorded more electric-based tunes for him in “Electric Freedom” © 2004. In one of his emails home he told us that this CD was played in his Striker vehicles on various missions and it had an important calming influence on his men as they went into battle. So, I recorded a wider collection in “Fighting Heroes” © 2005 just for him and his men. He said it really helped him and his men on his missions. Michael and all his men returned from Iraq safe and sound. In “3 Wave Set” © 2005, I gathered the tunes from these 3 albums, the ones that I like to listen to, plus 7 new ones that are primarily acoustic tunes, which is my preference. I now have a growing number of people following my music and asking me for more.
Enjoy!

Great guitar that just makes you feel good.

You can play this CD for hours. The music is great, with hints of throw back surf rythm. Strictly instrumental - no lyrics to get in the way. Recharges your soul.

The more you play it the more it grows on you. Love to put it in the CD player while cruising down the coast looking for surf. Well done.
