Album Notes

Formed after the dissolution of their former band Hottentot Venus, Alex Giorgetti (vocals, guitars, basses, keys, percussion), Steve Beck (Thunder, drums, percussion, bells, back up vocals) and Matt Smith (vocals, guitars, basses, keys) began playing the Cambridge circuit in early 2007, setting out to deliver original, visceral, and internal rock.

The Gypsy West released their debut album "Dustfires" in February 2008. Produced by Alex Giorgetti and Adam Strauss, the album typifies the mystique and vagabond nature of the band's name and concepts. More recently, the Gypsy West recorded a cover of "All Along the Watchtower" at Q Division studios in Boston. The cover will be released on a compilation album called The Next Paradigm Project in 2008.

Despite the band's accomplishments in the studio, The Gypsy West's real home is on the stage. Original compositions are extended into lengthy jams, parts re-arranged; songs bleed into one other in new ways. The band's main goal is to keep themselves entertained, and in return they are a truly entertaining act for any venue and any audience.
