Jason Haft - Just Defying Hatred 1. "Introduction" A short track to get the album started off with. Jason Haft handles his own production througout the album and does a pretty good job. This beat bangs hard as he rips up the mic with some hard flows. A cool short song to start the album off with, I'm feeling it to the fullest. 2. "Cross Me" Some nice piano work in the background for this song. The beat bangs and Jason Haft comes tight on the mic. The effect on his voice isn't all that great and makes the vocals sound like they're of poor quality. The flows can't be touched though. Jason Haft rip the mic apart with a good style. The quality isn't that great, but it's a good song overall, I'm feeling it. 3. "Living for the Lust" ft. Lindsay (N.L.P.) Some strait porn music right here. Jason Haft talks about getting in them guts on this one. The beat is alright, nothing special, but it fits the track well. Lindsay just does some moaning in the background of the vocals. The song ends with some more moaning. A cool song talking about hitting them cheeks. 4. "The Greed of Truth" Another good beat for this song with more of that sweet piano work in the background. Jason Haft comes hard on the mic with some solid flows. No chorus to this song, but the long verse is good though. Once again the quality sounds a bit poor on his voice. A good song overall, I would have liked to hear a chorus on the song though. 5. "Just Defying Hatred" The chorus is my favorite part of the song. Jason Haft lays down an alright beat for this song, not my favorite beat on the album. He comes with some cool flos on the mic, talking about his life and how he's made it to this point. It's more like a story of his life. It could have used a better beat, but I'm feeling the song overall. 6. "Going Out Tonight" ft. Lil Coner, Lindsay (N.L.P.) I'm not really feeing this beat all that much, I don't like the background drums. Lil Coner starts it off with a solid verse. Lindsay does some background vocals on the hook nicely. Jason Haft spits some good flows on his verses too. This is a pretty good song overall, they talk about going out and hitting the clubs, shows, whatever. 7. "Another Arguement" ft. Daviah Daviah lays down her sweet singing to start this song off with. The beat has more of an R&B feel to it. Jason Haft has only a short verse near the end of the album. This is more of a showcase of Daviah's singing. She does a good job overall, again the quality of the song is a little poor. She really hits the high notes finishing off the song though, damn! 8. "Envelope" ft. Lindsay (N.I.P.) I'm impressed with the singing on the chorus by Lindsay on this one. She has a nice voice and sings well. The beat is slower on this song and sounds more like an R&B beat to me. Jason Haft comes alright on the mic. The quality of the song isn't that great and it takes away from the singing, but overall I like Lindsay's voice and her vocals on the hook. More of an R&B song, not my taste, but it's a good song overall. 9. "Rush" ft. Lindsay (N.I.P.) They talk about hitting up the clubs on this one. A faster paced beat on this song, pretty good overall. Jason Haft comes with some good flows on the mic. Lindsay lays down some more sweet vocals on the chorus. A pretty good song overall, although I think it could have used more of a club beat than this one. 10. "In God's Hands" A good beat to this song as Jason Haft comes with some fast paced flows on the mic. He comes hard on this one. The beat is a little too loud though and it muffles the vocals a bit. The flows are good talking about how his life is in God's hands. A solid song overall, I like it. 11. "Open Position" ft. Lindsay (N.L.P.) Damn I like this beat a lot. This is more of that club type beat that should have been used on track nine. Jason Haft comes with some cool flows on the mic. Lindsay lays down some nice vocals on this one too. This song is of a better quality than a majority of songs on the album. The two come hard on this song, one of my favorite songs on the album, I'm feeling it a lot. 12. "Staring Contest" This song is really of bad quality. The beat is alright, nothing special really. Jason Haft comes with some nice vocals on the mic. He talks about his faith in God as his inspiration and guidance in life. A good song overall, the beat wasn't all that great though. 13. "Tinikling" A very interesting throw in for the album. This is an instrumental where Tinikling, a Filipino style of dancing is going on in the background. A cool little throw in for the album. Jason Haft goes with his Filipino roots for this song. 14. "Remember That" This is another one of my favorite songs. The quality of the vocals is much better on this song. Jason Haft rips up the mic talking about all those fakes out in the world. Some of the hardest lyrics he puts down on the album right here on this song. The beat fits the song well and Jason Haft rips the mic. A tight ass song overall, I'm feeling it to the fullest. 15. "Placing Blame" ft. Lindsay, Vivienne (N.L.P.) I'm not really feeilng the verses on this song. The beat is ok, but I'm not diggin it too much. I like the singing done by Lindsay a lot, but I don't like her verse or the verse by Vivienne. Jason Haft spits a short verse, but it's not nearly his best on the album. Not really feeling this song much. Overall this was a good album, but it had some bad parts to it that held it down to me. First of all the quality wasn't very good and it took away from a lot of the vocals on the album. The singing by Lindsay was very good, but the quality made her sound bad on of the songs. Jason Haft spit some tight flows on the mic on almost every song, but again the quality was poor and it sounded like they tried to put a lot of effects on his voice. With all that said this would have been a good album with good quality. I liked Jason Haft on the mic and he brought a variety of topics to flow about. Lindsay laid down some good singing on many of the songs, I didn't like her as a rapper, but her as a singer was very good. The production was pretty good, although there were a few songs I just didn't like the beat at all. A decent album, I would definately like to hear more from Jason Haftm, hopefully future albums will have better quality.
