Album Notes

Jason Haft was born & raised in the East Bay Area of Northern California. His musical inspiration stems from his mother, who is a Philippines radio champion in the singing division. Jason Haft's music is a blend of west coast hip hop, gothic alternative rock, and classical gospel music. He is an independent entrepreneur who currently owns JDH.

Jason Haft started writing poetry in 1995. In the year 2000, he became interested in becoming a recording artist. The lack of industry contacts and associates forced him into creating his own style of music. Although being categorized in the hip hop genre, Jason Haft's music appeals to all people interested in listening to a harmonious blend of instruments. Jason Haft's lyrics are criticized as "controversial," due to the diverse variety of subject matter.

Jason Haft is the owner of JDH which is located in Union City, California. In addition to producing his own album, Jason Haft has produced songs for independent recording artists around the Bay Area, California. For more information, please visit:

2 SICC REVIEWS ALBUM REVIEW Jason Haft - Language Arts
author: Blutarski

Jason Haft - Language Arts 01. "Remember That Intro" Produced by: Jason Haft A little into to the album. They are performing a show. 02. "You See" Produced by: Jason Haft A coo song. The beat is alright. Jason Haft lays down some nice vocals on the mic, mostly representing his home town of Union City. A coo song to start the album with. 03. "Bayon Ko (My Country)" Produced by: Jason Haft I like the theme of this song. Jason talks about his ethnic background and at the same time how he's very American. He talks about his family past and where he's at today. A coo concept to represent both of his ethic and cultural pasts. 04. "A Different Story" Produced by: Jason Haft A little bit of a dark feel to this song. He talks about some of the pain and suffering in his family's past and how he has to deal with the suffering. A little different feel to this one, I'm diggin it. 05. "New Message" Produced by: Jason Haft This song has more of a sentimental appeal to it. It has a lot slower pace to it to begin with. The song starts off with a call from Jason's mom as she tells him how much she loves him. He talks mostly during the song about what the meaning of life is and how special it can be. A touchy song with lots of emotion. 06. "Burning Pictures" Produced by: Jason Haft Jason talks about burning all the pictures he has because he's angered and ashamed of the past. Another slow paced beat to go along with the flows. A decent song, not one of my favorites, but it gives some detail on Jason Haft's life right now. 07. "Speak of the Devil" Produced by: Jason Haft The slow down his voice a little on this track to make his voice sound more dark. He talks about the devil and hell as well as his faith on this song. It's probably one of my lesser favorite tracks. I'm not really feeling the effect on his voice, I wish he would have just spit with his regular voice. An ok song overall. 08. "Can't Be With You" Produced by: Jason Haft This song has a slow pace to it. The chorus has singing with that chimpmunk sound to it, I think it's getting more and more played out the more I hear it used. The song has a very, very slow sound to it. I like the piano work in the background, but I'm not really feeling the rest. I little too slow for my taste. 09. "Unicorn" Produced by: Jason Haft I'm feeling this song a lot, although it's a bit weird to me because there is absolutely no beat in the background. The void is filled with some good piano work. Jason comes solid on the mic talking about his wife and how he'll stand next to her no matter what. A very good song overall, I'm feeling it. 10. "Life is Beautiful" Produced by: Jason Haft Jason talks about how much life is beautiful to him and why. The beat is alright. He comes solid on the mic once again, with another sentimental type track. A solid song overall, I'm feeling it. 11. "Epitaph" Produced by: Jason Haft More life stories and talk on this song. A pretty solid beat playing in the background with some appropriate intruments to go along with it. Jason talks more about how life is a struggle. Another good song, but it seems a little repetetive to the other songs on the album. 12. "Good For Me" ft. Lil Ben Produced by: Jason Haft A clean sounding beat for this track. This song has a different feel to it, I like the change of pace from the other sentimental type songs. I'm not even sure if Lil Ben is on the song at all or not because Jason Haft does all the verses himself, so I'm not sure where he comes in on this song besides the takling he does at the beggining. In any case it's a good song to finish the album with, I'm feeling it. Overall this was a good effort from Jason Haft. There was some solid mic work done once again by Jason and he can hold his own on the production end of the album. I think the quality of sound was better from his first release, but it still needs to be improved a bit. The songs were a little repetetive to me at certain points throughout the album. It seems like Jason Haft is a real passionate man about his life and family, but he should have spread out the songs a bit. I think he's improved his lyrics, style and delivery from his first release. Another coo release from Jason Haft, I hope to hear more and more from him in the future. 04 Jun 2005 by Blutarski
