Album Notes

If you're familiar with the music of Steve Haggard, then
you already know that he's a truly original artist.

Steve Haggard's signature sound can be best described as
"Genuine American Roots Music", and it’s a potent blend of
Americana, rockin' country, some down-home blues, a little
bit of folk, and a dash of rockabilly.

Steve is a man of many talents: a distinctive vocalist, a
great songwriter, and an excellent musician. (In addition
to playing guitar and mandolin, Steve is also a virtuoso
blues harmonica player.)

And during the past decade or more, he has become one of
the top producers around, winning acclaim for his studio
work in Nashville with artists and bands not only from the
USA, but from Canada, England, Norway, Sweden, Finland and
Germany.

The brand-new Steve Haggard release, "Love Conquers All",
showcases all of Steve's talents. The new CD features 10
of the artist's new original songs, plus two fine covers.
It's an eclectic album, filled with strong performances
and top-notch material.

Steve's five previous Wild Oats Records CDs have all won
glowing reviews from music journalists here and overseas,
as well as praise from a wide spectrum of music lovers.
(Edward Morris of the prestigious Nashville Scene called
Steve's "Make Your Move" CD "one of the year's best".)

And the first reviews of "Love Conquers All" are comin'
in. The reviewer Wildy Haskell gives the album 5 stars out
of a possible 5, and writes: "Steve Haggard raises the bar
a notch higher with a wonderfully warm roots album that is
not to be missed."

While Jess Marich of Nashville's "Shake! Magazine" says:
"Steve Haggard is a Nashville treasure. One of the great
country/folk/blues artists, he has enjoyed a fruitful
career... This album ("Love Conquers All") is another
fine example of Steve's poetic, rootsy music".

Despite being on a small independent label -- Nashville's
Renegade Record Label, Wild Oats Records, of course ! --
Steve Haggard has built a (growing) legion of extremely
devoted fans around the world. He has done some 55 tours
outside of the USA and played in 17 countries, performing
everywhere from Europe to the Middle East. Steve's five
previous Wild Oats Records CDs have picked up radio play
in more than 20 countries, and been distributed on five
continents.

Like many of the finest artists, Steve Haggard has yet to
receive all of the recognition he deserves... a situation
that is changing all the time, however, as more and more
people hear the man’s music and become aware of his work.

*Very* Highly Recommended!

I've been a fan of this artist since first seeing him play in Nashville back in the early '90s. Since then I've seen Steve perform several times. I have all Steve's earlier albums and they're all worth buying, but this new one is probably the best one yet. Lots of super stuff. And "Same Old Ghost"..WOW!

Darn near a masterpiece

"Masterpiece" is a strong word, but it just might fit here. I reviewed this CD for the English mag, "Rock 'n' Reel" last month, and I was impressed then. In the weeks since writing that review, I've listened to "Love Conquers All" a couple of dozen times, and I'm even more impressed. Steve Haggard is a terrific talent. Expressive vocals, a collection of great songs (Haggard wrote ten of twelve) with "Mysterious Ways Part 3", "Same Old Ghost" and "If She Only Had A Heart" just a few of the standouts, beautiful production (again by Steve), and wonderful musicianship all around.
