We have been excited since we got the news that Michael Haggins “aka” Squeak has a new summer release! Well, it’s finally here… all 10 songs are available now! The composer/musician is a native of Pasadena, CA and started his music career (or shall we say interest) in grade school when he began playing sax, drums and electric bass. His influences include Sly and the Family Stone, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, the Motown sound and Grover Washington, Jr. Michael is related to music royalty, he’s the nephew of the late Al Duncan, one of the world’s most recorded blues and jazz drummers with the VeeJay and Chess labels. In the 1950’s Uncle Al played with greats like Count Basie, Mahalia Jackson and Big Joe Turner. Continuing the legacy, Michael debuted on the Smooth Jazz charts in 2004 with his debut, DAYBREAK. His brand new album, TRAFFIC features some rich, feel-good jams like the Smooth Jazz hit “Traffic” where Michael drive’s it home with this souped up summer groove. His laid back style is funky and smooth on the entire album. We really like the fresh, vocal-laced “Hooked On You,” the Hardcastle-vibey tune “Sunday” and the very suave, Latin-tinged “Cuate.” Merge carefully onto the Information Super Hwy now and pick up your copy of TRAFFIC!
