Album Notes

Featuring soloists such as legendary Brazilian trumpet man Claudio Roditi, 2008 Thelonious Monk Competition Winner Jon Irabagon and Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band member Michael Dease, Jason Hainsworth delivers hard-swinging original compositions and arrangements with the help of his Jazz Orchestra. DWJazz Records presents KALEIDOSCOPE, the debut album of the Jason Hainsworth Jazz Orchestra. Jason Hainsworth, is steadily gaining a reputation as a saxophonist to be taken seriously. Since his childhood in Houston, Texas, Jason forged his talents performing professionally in New Orleans, Atlanta and New York. Jason's opportunities allowed him to perform with and learn from many of today's Jazz luminaries, such as Ellis Marsallis, Victor Goines, Todd Coolman, Gary Smulyan, Marcus Printup, Wycliff Gordon, Kevin Bales, Rodney Jordan, Bill Peterson, Russell Gunn, and Leon Anderson. In addition to his outstanding and memorable performances, Jason is a talented composer and an inspiring educator. While continuing to perform with his own quartet, Jason continues to cultivate a vibrant jazz program at Broward Community College as Director of Jazz Ensembles and saxophone instruction at Broward Community College in Davie, Florida.

HEY! I jammed with this cat when he was just perfecting his chops in Houston, Texas back in the day. I was always blown away and learned from him at every gig! He was scorching back then and didn't even realize it! This cat is one of the best human beings I have ever met....humbkle as it gets!....his music enlightens the soul and I am very impressed with where the spirit of music has taken him! Good to hear that JH keeps jazz alive and he has developed into a powerhouse of music communication! Top notch!
