Album Notes

*Nothing Sweeter is a contemporary Alternative Pop/Rock Album that is heavily influenced by Alternative Electronica. It’s an album unafraid of breaking social norms. Something to be added to the collection of any music fan.

*Haiqeem's vocal's are as distinct as Richard Butler of The Psychedelic Fur's which is more then enough to keep listeners attentive.

01.*"Nothing Sweeter" begins with a vengeful opener the namesake of this album; the story of a young-man putting himself in the shoes of his scorned ex-girlfriend in a grunge like song disguised almost half believably as a svelte 00's dance rock track, onto
02."Things" which is a warning to cruel parents who don't choose their words carefully towards young children and to protect them from harmful experience. Haiqeem intuitively knows how to use upper scale vocals to create the tense feeling’s that a mistreated child would feel surrounded by the fabrications of trance effects.
03."Fright Or Panic" which is a minor keyed New Wave track that asks in each chorus; “Will she want me, will she meet me here in the night?” that insight’s the singer is to meet a lover privately.
04.Love Gone Wrong is a hurtful Synth-Rock that dramatizes some acts of a relationship headed south but Haiqeem doesn’t get into depth with the reason’s why.
05.Loneliness; however is a track about a young man unable to sleep and is loosing his mind out of boredom which takes us to an almost psychedelic world over a slow Adult Alternative Rock ballad.
06. Flake: is a faux R&B tune that expresses Haiqeem’s elastic vocal ability to convince the listener that they might be listening to another singer that ends in a very alternative like manner with nonsensical drum beats and the phrase “Take That”.
07.Apart; the leading single from this album is a very smartly centered Electronic Pop/Rock track that begins it’s chorus defiantly “What makes you think that I can forgive you, after what you’ve done to me?”, his vocals are very subtle on this track but strong only partially displaying the strength of his four octave voice.
08.Late At Night is a synth jumping, bass throbbing, guitar ridden ballad that takes the listener into an unfamiliar world of experimentalism, but like any complex math equation it all adds up, and actually becomes an interesting listen that becomes more and more enjoyable with each listen.
09.I Wish You Had A Mind Of Your Own; is a post-Electronic Acid Rock track that dares the listener indirectly not to like the track, Haiqeem mentions things such as “I know you didn’t want that hat until you saw it on a mannequin.” and onto his chorus; “I wish you had a mind of your own, because they all will soon be breached still…” The track is inconsistent with the rest of the flow of the album upon first glance, but upon the second listen the listener will see how it fits in place.
10.Social Life Pt 2: is one of the more “normal” tracks on this record that brings the listener back to contemporary folk influenced Alternative Rock that can easily feel it’s grasp onto radio airplay. It’s mildly creative but even more original with it’s chorus that states; “I know that it was getting the better of you, pick up the phone, pick up the phone, ring, ring ,ring.”
11.Turns: is a standard Alternative Pop/Rock track that broods on about the lack of positive role model’s in one’s life, “with two turns to take, why wont you take the one for the better?”
12.Our Complex Future: is an Electronic Pop/Rock track with a slight reggae feel to it that address a vastly changing world. Haiqeem abstractly names things bothering him except for…Global Warming.
13.Delirious is a Capella track that Haiqeem beats himself up about entering a relationship too quickly before being hailed by a chorus that demands; “Who are you to treat me this way?”
14.Social Life Pt 1: Is obviously an older recording by a much younger Haiqeem who hasn’t yet fully grown into his big voice and blunder’s along a folk like Alterna-Pop track that mutates into a barely understandable fit of teenage rage before closing out in it’s original composition; “What Kind Of Friend Could I Be For You?”
Haiqeem is a promising young Artist that indeed has a lot to say, It’s expected to hear a lot more from this Artist over at least the next twenty years.
