Album Notes

World class Irish music. One of America's most popular and best selling Celtic groups. Hair Of The Dog formed in 1992, bringing together five of the most talented musicians from the upstate New York music scene. Bassist Rick Bedrosian spent much of the 80's in Nashville-under contract with CBS Records and working with stars such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Marshall Crenshaw, John Stewart (of The Kingston Trio), and Gene Clark (of The Byrds)-before returning home to help found The McKrells (with whom he played at Carnegie Hall and The Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival). Banjo man John Haggerty and guitarist Mike DeAngelis spent seven years together in the popular Irish band The Porters before joining the Dog. Fiddler extraordinaire Larry Packer has rosined up his bow for Lou Reed, Hall And Oates, Phoebe Snow and others; he was in The Band's "The Last Waltz" and on "Saturday Night Live" in skits with John Belushi; and in 1969 his band Cat Mother and the All-Night News Boys scored a top ten hit ("Good Old Rock And Roll") before going out on the road with Jimi Hendrix. Electric guitarist/mandolin player Eric Finn rounds out the quintet, bringing a rock flair born at The Berlkee School Of Music and bred in a decade of jam band studies with Slipknot and Box Of Rain. Voted upstate New York's best band by the readers of Metroland Magazine in 2001 and mentioned as one of Irish Music's best sellers in the July 21st, 2001 Billboard Magazine.

Really like the CD - will be looking to get some others of theirs and will be looking to see them live. Hopefully at the Hooley on the Hudson again on Labor Day weekend.
