Album Notes

An eclectic mix of ambient jazz pop rock indie punk soundtracks. The Hair Thieves started in late 1999, as the solo project of Chris Rollason. Over the next few years, the band line up expanded and shrank, as the music continued to evolve into anything Chris wanted to do at any given time. Touching various genres, Chris used each new song as a learning exercise in music, production or genres. In 2005, the band became a duo, with the inclusion of Ian Packman, formally of Red Star Radio. With a growing collection of collaborators, the Hair Thieves are more like a collective, always trying to bring others into the fold and expand the vision and the music. With three self financed EPs out, an album on the way and some acoustic gigs coming up the Hair Thieves are tip toeing through a musical mine field and occasionally and purposefully stomping on one, just to see what happens.
