A collection of artists banding together to sing "Songs for Haiti", this is a benefit album to help the rescue effort for the people of Haiti after the massive and devastating January earthquake. Spear-headed by singer-songwriter Shannon Hurley after wondering how a musician could possibly help in the aftermath of such a tragedy, this project came together in a matter of weeks with songs that would help re-build lives and heal broken spirits. Gently bridging from singer-songwriter/acoustic folk, to soft electronic, to modern pop-rock, all of these songs have the common purpose of finding music as a way to help solve the problems of the world. All proceeds go directly to www.oxfamamerica.org
Artists that generously donated their lovely music to this album are: Mike Schmid, Samantha Murphy, Kate Earl, Steve Kilbey and Martin Kennedy, Mark Cofer, Sarah Fimm (w/ Peter Murphy & Leigh Nash), Lovers and Poets (Shannon Hurley & Ben Eisen), Manda Mosher, Jamie Lynn Noon, Jenni Alpert, Lindsey Yung, Sierra Swan, Josh Mease, Kelda, Sarah Sharp, Adrienne Pierce, Mouchette, Charity Daw, Julianna Raye, Musée Mécanique, Kat Parsons, and Kari Kimmel.
All songs mastered by Sound Bites Dog. Special thanks to Mysty, KGRL.FM, all the KGRL fans, Bob Ferguson, everyone at Oxfam America, and Sharon Bautista.

An amazing compilation of indie music and a great purpose
author: Dieter
The album isn't a simple collection of songs gathered for a good cause, the compilation is from the first to the last song harmonious, quality and mood of the songs performed quite different artist fit perfect together. Beneath performances of my favorite indie artists like Lovers and Poets, Adrienne Pierce, Sarah Fimm, Jamie Lynn Noon, or Kate Earl includes the album several pleasing discoveries, artists whose music I'll check out soon. Regardless if well known songs like Kate Earl's Melody or first releases like I Saw the Rain by Lovers and Poets, all tracks converge to 85 minutes of relaxing beautiful music. My personal tip: listen to Crumbs and Broken Shells, Sarah Fimm's collaboration with Leigh Nash and Peter Murphy.
