Album Notes

"A strong debut from journeyman jazzer Steve Hall and his cohort of performers. Given the band's relative obscurity, the release is surprisingly well put together, with a nice mix of standards and original compositions, and tones ranging from
relaxed to uptempo." All Music Guide

Steve Hall is a Hammond organ player located in the Portland, OR area. A Berklee grad, he has worked for years in the night club, restaurant, and hotel scene on the West Coast. Along the way he has performed with The Drifters, The Coasters, Willie Bobo's latin jazz group, various big bands in the L.A. area and innumerable small bands in the San Jose, CA area.

After years of performing five or six nights a week he now focuses his attention on his first love, jazz. The Steve Hall Quintet was formed in 2004 with the same personnel as on the CD. The band performs in the Portland, OR area.
