A Cappella with a kick - that means vocal percussion and a beat. Yes, Halogen is a Christian group and we sing Christian a cappella music, but that doesn't mean twangy Southern Gospel and it doesn't mean boring. Check us out for yourself.

notes
Thanks to all those stopping by this site because of our appearance on the nationally televised Christian Artist Talent Search (CATS) on the INSP Networks; we're glad you watched it! Special thanks also go out to all our new friends from Raleigh, NC and Bloomington, IN - we had a great time with all you guys!
If you're here and you haven't heard us yet, Halogen is a 5-man contemporary a cappella Christian band. Our music is based on intense harmonies, thought-provoking lyrics, and a human rhythm section. At least we think that's what it's based on. Not that it matters, really, as long as we're getting to sing and be heard, but all those adjectives made it sound good.
We've been singing a cappella since December 31, 1995, and we're still here, still singing a cappella. Granted, we've improved over the years (and it's a good thing too; we needed a lot of work) - and now we've even gotten into songwriting, and we've gone and won an award and the Southeast regional spot of the Christian Artist Talent Search, which means we'll be on National TV four times next year (on the INSP Networks) - not so easy to do when you're an a cappella band going up against screaming electric guitars, crazy drummers, heavily over-amplified vocalists, and people with dance moves, but we did it.
A few months after that, we finished our first officially released CD, HALOGENESIS, and now you have the opportunity to purchase that selfsame creation on this incredible website. Please, check our music out. Buy a CD and let us know what you think.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Wonderful!
author: JoelHalogen is a unique and awesome group. I enjoyed every song on this CD and the ones on "Depth". Looking forward buying future CDs from Halogen.
Awesome
author: TwilaI purchased this CD for my 12 yr. old son. He had heard some of this CD from a friend earlier. He plays this CD over and over again. It has great Christian lyrics and wonderful tight harmony. Of course he likes the "human" percussion as well! He has the whole family singing along! Great CD!

Great
author: S MangumOriginal, uplifting music! I want more. This is proof that one doesn't need mechanical instruments to sing and glorify our Lord.
Great CD - gift for my wife and we both enjoy it
author: Kim H.My wife is a big a capella music fan and a christian music fan so i just did a search on "christian a capella" on google. I ended up listening to tracks from a dozen or so groups and liked Halogen the best so I bought it. I'd never heard of them before but the CD is great and my wife loves it. Best I can describe it is that a capella groups all work on harmonizing - Halogen does that well but write great melodies too. The songs are ones you'd sing along too even if they weren't a capella but that makes them even better. Closest thing I've heard to them is a christian group out of minneapolis called go fish - they're no longer a capella but their first album was and it was great. P.S. also liked that cd baby wrapped it for me for christmas!
Great Songs -- Very Good Production
author: Jay RinkelThe recording on most of the songs are very good. The fact that it is a capella is a plus here. The "vocal" percussion provides an interesting quality that could not be replicated by a "normal" drum set or drum machine. They take an all vocal recording to a nearly "soft-pop" sound. The songs are focused on Christian themes, are well written, and often touch on real-life issues that many of us face through life. It is a CD that I expect to play over and over again for some time to come!!
