Raw yet refined

You can tell this CD is set up to rip raw emotion from the listener, however, every beat, lyric and sound is carefully crafted into a work of art. I'm very into the CD for energy, angst and action it invokes in me. It's almost tangible.

Just a quick review. This CD was very enjoyable to listen to. I'd seen HiR on mp3.com years ago and had always wondered what happened to this artist. Now I have found the CD, I listened again and I'm glad I hadn't forgotten. In my opinion almost every track is worthy listening and the others help tie the CD together.
I can see why it is compared to NiN, and would certainly say to NiN fans to give this a try. Yet something is different; the mixing for a start (in my opinion) sounds clearer, and fuller. And the kinds of sounds and structure used are a little different, but the lyrics are definitely reminiscent. But I support judging music on its own merits instead of constantly comparing to others, so give it a go regardless.
I love this CD.

I first bought the demo album over 6/7 years ago (perhaps even more) and it has been on my play list since then. Although this cd is definetly the finished version now! The best way to describe HIR is to say they pick up where NIN finish off, this is not say they do not have their own style, just that there is strong NIN flavouring to it. Excellent album, really looking forward to hearing the new album which is underway, although hope it will not take as long to finish!
