Hamhock and Slide met in 1996. Hamhock was playing bluegrass banjo at the time and Slide was performing in a southern rock band playing slide on a fender strat. Both were introduced by thier brothers and jammed together on that day and havent looked back since.
Hamhock and Slides music has elements of bluegrass, funk, and influences of the Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, as well as Robert Johnson and Son House.
Ham & Slides blend of foot tapping "Cracker Blues", can only be described as guaranteed to bring a smile, and play thier music like they are in your living room.
"Hamhock", a 5th generation Florida Cracker and "Slide", graduating from the University of Fla and Fla State both reside and perform regularly in and around Gainesville Fla.

Got in contact with these nice guys first time at "MySpace". Guess they´re some of the best contamporary country blues guitarists you´ll find... There´s a feeling in every note! And their "Come on into my Kitchen" and "Statesboro Blues" are awesome! Just miss their "Over Yonder" tho...

Awesome artists and performers
author: Darrell Prather
Great music to drive by... except my gas pedal foot keeps tapping to the beat. So I brought it in the house...except I figured out I can't type, clean, cook or do anything while listening. So I sit out back in a rocker, smiling and moving to the music. Tell me there's more where this came from!

Great artistic expression in the form of music!
author: Tim Conway, Ph.D.
Hamhock and Slide have a genuine down home presence personally and this shows in their music. I highly recommend seeing and hearing their music live, but the CD is a great companion in the car. Each composition has a unique blend of their talents and rhythm, which allows for endless play time of the CD without ever realizing the repetion. This is destined to become one of my all time favorite CD's.
