ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dave Hamilton’s musical roots were planted by his family in central Illinois. Even back then he was into capes. Many memories involved rocking out with his siblings. From a very young age, David shined in all things musical.

He fondly recalls being used as a puppet in home shows orchestrated by his sisters. Today they are still known to perform for a crowd.

At 20, Dave met his best friend “Gui-tar.” Together they have been performing and creating magical lyrics for the past 15 years. You never meet one without the other.

Teaching Wiggleworms class in Chicago opened Mr. Dave’s world to the love and joy that is created when kids and parents get involved in music. After five years working with wee ones, he released his first kids’ album, Mr. Dave, in 2003. A crowd favorite, with traditional songs and simple interactive movements for toddlers.

David has an organic way of connecting with children and adults alike. His simplistic approach to writing and performing introduces them to the world of music in an uninhibited way. It is pure magic.

In 2009, Dave teamed up with Annie Dwyer, an early childhood advocate and founder of Loolatopia, a children’s company committed to keeping it real for kids 0-99. By joining forces, they were able to create a mix of whimsical, upbeat originals that have lots to teach. Overnight, Dave was transformed into a music hero with a positive message.

With “Gui-tar” in hand, David has just completed It’s Mr. Dave, his second album for children. It is a collection of new classics that are sure to delight. Some even claim they are downright super. Y'all are invited to come sing along.

Super CD!
This is a great CD. We especially love the catchy "Everybody Sing" and "Superhero Street". "Baby Doll" is a really sweet song that brings a tear to my eye as my little Baby Doll is growing up so fast.

Super Fun!
Our boys ask to hear this one again and again. They love Roving Rainbow Robots and Superhero Street--great imagery and lots of fun. (Mom likes Everybody Sing, too.) Catchy songs; everyone will be singing along in no time. We saw Mr. Dave play a children's concert at FitzGerald's in March, and it was *super fun* for the whole family. Talented musicians, age-appropriate audience interaction, and a cute story line with Meanie Zucchini--see him live if you get the chance.

My kids LOVE this cd!
My 5 year old absolutely adores this cd, she has made up her own dance moves to most of the songs, and loves to sing along. Her 2 year old sister sings along also, and is getting pretty good at the dance moves. This is by far their favorite cd of kids' songs, and I would have to say it has some very catchy tunes and is not at all annoying to listen to over and over and over...as we seem to at our house. I also have a 14 month old who does a little baby dance with his sisters during "Dinosaur Stomp".

Lovin' it!
We LOVE this CD. Our son's favourite song is "Squash". We love singing along to the great lyrics. Super catchy and fun; it's a goody for long car trips because we can all get in the groove and singalong!

Wayyy Cool Tunes!
Our 4 year old daughter LOVES this CD. Even Mom and Dad have been caught singing along around the house. Our faves are Roving Rainbow Robots (hilarious!), Superhero Street, Read-a-book, and we all act like dinosaurs during Dinosaur Stomp. I love the saxophone addition in this album. Such catchy music and lyrics!

It's Mr Dave
The whole family thinks this one is a true winner. My son (aged 2) was dancing and attempting to sing along on first play. Fun and funky and brings a smile to little faces and grown ups too. Truly original and hits all the right notes. Full of favourites.. squash, dinosaur stomp, baby doll... will be getting more for gifts and spreading the good times and great tunes.
