Album Notes

I intended to record this cd on the road using technology which favors music ( a good microphone, my laptop and an M-Box). The concept has to do with a place where our souls can experience the quietness and restfulness-and for me this is that soundtrack. It's not a mandolin exercize or practice, but simply the enjoyment of playing.

There are no arrangement, just songs that live in my unconscious. Tom Jobim, ( Chico Buarque, Edu Lobo, Cartola, Silvio Caldas, Orestes Barbosa, Paulo Jobim, Ronaldo Bastos, Noel Rosa, Vadico, Dorival Caymmi, Guinga and Paulo Sergio Pinheiro. There are also 3 of my compositions, one that I wrote for my brother, Cesar, one inspired by a word that Portinari mentioned to me and I felt was deeply beautiful, having everything to do with the mood of this record- Gratitude -and the last, a very simple one which lead me to a new level of experience-to record a CD with "instantaneous" compositions. "Love, longing love (Amor saudade amor) " was the song that I did instantly-first take-no editing, just my expression of the longing for my beloved one, ( Cinara-my wife).

Anyway, this album can be heard with full attention or not. It can be heard in the car, on an ipod, when you do not want to think, want to cry or laugh, as I like to say "as you please". Hope you enjoy it...I did!
