“If there is any justice, Handsome Devil's forthcoming album, Fully Automatic, will place the band on the modern rock landscape with the kind of force that characterizes its musical attack,” says Robert Kinsler (Orange County Register). The forthcoming CD from Handsome Devil, Fully Automatic, cocked and loaded with rock n’ roll swagger and attitude, is the arrival of Handsome Devil – the whole package. The burning guitars of Guns, Pretty Pictures, and Try Me will rip your face off, while the anthem choruses of singles Getting You Off and Ten Seconds Ago will keep ears ringing, coast to coast.
Formed in 1999, Handsome Devil (Danny Walker, guitarist Billie Stevens, drummer Keith Morgan, and bassist Brian Wedmore) hit the clubs in Southern California, performing with relentless conviction. Though influenced by the Clash, AC/DC, and Social Distortion, whose front man Mike Ness produced their former group WANK, Handsome Devil ultimately focused on having an original style and sound. In January 2001, after cutting some demos and touring regionally, Handsome Devil was signed to RCA Records. Their debut album, Love and Kisses from the Underground (2001), produced by legendary producer Ed Stasium (Ramones) and Jeremy Popoff, featured the radio single/MTV videos Makin’ Money and Bring It On. Handsome Devil further developed their unique brand of no-nonsense rock with their sophomore effort, mixed by Cameron Webb (Social Distortion), releasing Knock Yourself Out (2003), which spawned the single/video Hello Somebody and the HD-style cover of Bette Davis Eyes. Both Handsome Devil albums garnered critical acclaim (see attached press) and the overwhelming approval of fans worldwide. Supporting their releases with six national tours, the Vans Warped Tour, a boatload of radio shows, and a live television performance of Makin’ Money on The Late Show, Handsome Devil is a lean, mean, touring machine, exhibiting a ferocious live show, a strong work ethic, and a humble appreciation of their fans.
Handsome Devil has arrived and is poised to blow you away. Of their latest offering, drummer Keith Morgan proudly states, “Fully Automatic is full on and has all the components of a great rock record. It’s a beautiful thing.” Get rocked by Handsome Devil when they perform at a city near you, and pick up Fully Automatic for your sonic pleasure.
