Hangout Records is proud to break into the game with the much-anticipated release of Avenue 707. Avenue 707 is a titillating blend of street-hip lyrics and fresh musical composition to be appreciated by the young and old alike. Hangout Records, est. 2005, is the brainchild of childhood friends and band mates, Elwin Maiden and Jeff Nixon. Fed up with all the dead-end leads they encountered attempting to work their way into a label, these diligent visionaries decided that establishing a family-owned operation was the only way to have representation without compromising their creative freedom. All they needed were skilled musicians to help blend their funk inspired instrumentation with the ever-changing slang and trends that is the Bay Area. And for that, these Vallejo natives did not have to look far. Avenue 707, the labels first release, would be filled with just that.
Nay, Ms. Day, D.K. Hogg, and Yung E’s individual careers all followed a similar path, which consisted of participating in many local talent shows, and sporadically working on studio productions. D.K. Hogg is a Vallejo based rapper/songwriter, who honed his musical abilities from an R&B vocal background, that stuns listeners with ear grabbing ad libs. Nay is a widely acclaimed singer/songwriter who has developed a unique style, from her participation at a young age in school and church choirs, that has the industry buzzing. Ms. Day, the youngest of her label mates, is a soulful singer/songwriter with a strong poetic background she draws from in developing her groundbreaking material. Yung E is a rapper/producer/songwriter who leans on his jazz roots to produce a captivating sound.

Not the overworked, over-produced, commercial hype you're used to. Lots of groups talk about "keepin' it real;" Avenue 707 does. A sound that's tight and arrangements that let the feelings of the artists themselves come through. An excellent debut, and good reason to look for future trips down "the avenue."

This CD is tight!!! For me it's a perfect mixture it got little of that Mac Dre influence in it which kicks the heads off and some-some of that 2-Pac makeing it smooth, but don't get me wrong those guys don't copy the style they came up with smth. fresh.
