Hank Horton/ Wins Big At The 2005 CAMA
Hank had his share of struggles and challenges in pursuit to his goal in country music and his perseverance paid off when his first album titled “Honky Tonk Heartache Blues” won the highly coveted “Best Country Album” of the year award at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in Toronto, Saturday, November 25, 2005.

On November 3, 2006 at the MTS Centre, Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, Hank once again proved too his fans that voted for him, that he is the true spirit of country music. Hank took home second most trophies, winning two (2) awards. He won for “Best Country CD” and “Best Songwriter”.
More than 5,000 people from around the world voted online to nominate and choose their favorite artist. The awards were handed out in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 people at the Winnipeg MTS Centre, during a classy and impressive nationally televised awards ceremony. Thanks to all the fans that voted across Canada and elsewhere in the world.
Hank Horton & Wildwood Country consist of five (5) musicians whose high performances are known for packing clubs in their home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Hank’s whose original music is described as traditional country is blended with a Nashville flavor.

Award winner singer/songwriter and performer who is well known for his playful stage presence and staggering songwriting skills. He formed his locally acclaimed band known as “Wildwood Country”. Hank began to pursue his solo career full time and effortlessly after he assembled a powerful band to back him on stage. However, no matter what the mood, Hank will always be seen wearing a smile, a born entertainer. Hank’s personable demeanor on and off stage has long been a trademark of his music, and he has therefore, created a loyal fan base that he refers to as his friends instead of his fans, therefore, it is no surprise that his town of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, loves his music. Fans across Canada and around the globe love his music. When asked why people love his music and the answer we get from Hank is that “I strive to connect personally with the audience by performing in front of the fans and making them happy”.

Singer/Songwriter “Hank Horton” was born and raised in a small Northern Community of Duck Bay, Manitoba, Canada. Hank loves writing songs that relates to everyday life. Hank has a style of his own and he loves entertaining in front of a large audience. Hank’s life is so intertwined with his music that he distills a unique style that blends pure country with pure emotion. He penned and recorded ten original heartfelt tunes that relates to the joys and struggles in everyday life. Hank became fascinated with country music at age 9 and country music became an integral part of his life. He has since evolved into a very inspirational artist and possesses the qualities of becoming a strong influence in the Country Music Industry. The Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards was held November 3, 2006 at the MTS centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and Hank was nominated for “Best Songwriter” and Best Country CD” by the fans across Canada. Once again, Hank proved to his fans that voted for him that he his the best in Country Music across Canada. APTN televised the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards nationally across Canada and parts of United States and Hank won “Best Songwriter” and Best Country CD” at this special event. Hank’s creativity and mainstream songwriting continue to do extremely well. Another album titled “A World Of Many Heartaches” with ten (10) original songs will be released within the next few days to the general public and radio airplay and this album is the true spirit of Country Music.
He has since appeared and has been interviewed on television and radio stations such as; Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), Native Communication Incorporated (NCI) 105.05 FM, University Of Winnipeg CKUW 95.9 FM,CFRY 920 AM 93.1 FM and numerous other radio stations throughout Canada.
As a songwriter, Hank brings a fresh and unique perspective into country music by paying attention to his fans, and then focusing his writing efforts at what the fans want to hear and adds his own personal experiences. Hank’s primary influences are Country Music legends such as, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Horton, George Jones, Ray Price and Buck Owens. Just to name a few!
