A note from the album's Producer, Steven Strauss:
"No Hiding Place" is an album to fall in love with. Its song list is drawn from the traditions of Lead Belly, Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips, Jimmie Rodgers, The Dixon Brothers, Jean Ritchie, The New Lost City Ramblers, and more, but the rapport shared by the artists is the unifying force in their presentation. Truly they seem to be two voices singing one song. Their blend is natural, unmannered, and plain in a way that strikes the ear as a nearly extinct species. The effect is almost one of a time warp; the practices and values on ample display are entirely in keeping with the tradition of American folk music untouched by the commercial folk scene of the sixties. Though their interpretations differ from those you've heard, the essential nature of the song itself shines through.
