Hannah Fury has got one of the most haunting voice and style in music ever.I recommend this ep especially for those who tend to have dark thoughts and sad looks(and this can be reversed)."Soul Poison" is truly wonderful and astonishing record with some heartbreaking moments referring to some excellent films(like in "The Last Piece of Cake").This ep is a really strong debut that introduces perhaps one of the best contemporary female singer-songwriter, with her own distinctive style in music, subtle and delicate piano works, profound and stirring lyrics..Please, don't miss it!!!

Belle et triste.

Beautiful and sad are apt ways to describe this album. Although short, it has coherence and the listener doesn't feel shafted by the length. With songs this rich and layered, it would be difficult to feel that you've been shortchanged. It's obvious that a lot of blood, sweat and tears -- but especially tears -- went into this EP.
The songs, though different from each other have a uniform feel, telling stories of loss more than love and sadness more than anything else. Ms. Fury's devotion to her instrument is extraordinary and wonderful, and her voice floats over the music like a fairy in an old painting. While "Scars" and "The Last Piece of Cake" are stand-outs for me, the entire EP is wonderful and well worth the money. Fans of Rasputina and the Cocteau Twins are sure to enjoy Hannah Fury.
