Amazing!

When I heard this album, it blew me away, like in the song Away of this album. Hannah's music immediatly reminded me of early Kate Bush as far as the songwriting is concerned, Tori Amos' piano playing, and the singing style of Lisa Germano. But still, Hannah's style is her own - the way she keeps you pinned to your chair, listening to her musical stories - I've not yet experienced this with any other artist. This album includes a 5 song mini-epic inspired by the book Wicked - which is an interesting take. Her voice is simply gorgeous, especially on the songs Love Today, Away and Vampire Waltz. All those people out there who are into beautiful, unique female voices in the Tori Amos/Kate Bush/Happy Rhodes spectrum, well crafted melodies and mysterious yet strong lyrics should definately order this album (plus her other EP's Soul Poison, I Can't Let You In, Subterfuge and Meathook...)

Anytime I play this cd for anyone they're instantly taken in by it. It's so rare for someone to walk the line between beautiful and sinister as Miss Fury does on this record. In my opinion the finest track is The Vampire Waltz, an 8 1/2 minute masterpiece that closes the cd and leaves you aching for more.

Hauntingly beautiful

Ok, the word "haunting" must have been used 1000 times speaking of Hannah Fury. But what else should I call her? The lyrics are dark and spooky and beautiful. Her voice is a lush whisper but she hits every note. If this is gothic, give me more. The piano sounds like the natural accompaniment for her singing. It is creepy because it is so perfect. It makes you want to wander through a dark forest at night and discover a lonesome building with flickering candles in the windows - cosy and scary at the same time.

I have her bewitched cd.I deeply suggest it to all those people who want to have 1 hour of beautiful, sensitive but also disturbing & haunting trip. This album is a sort of unbrakeable spell an effusion of feelings, a flow of suggestive notes. Support this artist as I'm doing (from Italy), shes also a kind, sweet person.
