In addition to five original compositions, the "Subterfuge" EP features Hannah Fury's version of "You Showed Me," which was written by Gene Clark and Roger McGuinn of the Byrds and was a top-ten hit for the Turtles in 1969. Accompanying the six-song CD is an all-region DVD of the video for "Carnival Justice (The Gloves Are Off) Part II," directed by Chris Ohlson and featuring marionettes that were custom-made by Scott Radke.

Breathtaking!

When I heard this album, it blew me away, like in the song Away of this album. Hannah's music immediatly reminded me of early Kate Bush as far as the songwriting is concerned, Tori Amos' piano playing, and the singing style of Lisa Germano. But still, Hannah's style is her own - the way she keeps you pinned to your chair, listening to her musical stories - I've not yet experienced this with any other artist. This Ep includes a DVD of the catchy song Carnival Justice - a very Kate-esque song that I wish had been recorded with real instruments, as is sounds a little computer-based. Still, a great song nonetheless, that will impress for sure. Hannah touches dark and dreamy subjects again on this release, and makes we want her new full length CD even more!

Hauntingly Beautiful

Ms. Fury has managed to incorporate new instruments into her work, and still doesn't lose the substance of her music. I bought the cd for Je t'aime and Carnival Justice, but I have also found You Showed Me and My Next Victim to also be wonderful tracks. The dvd is nice too, we finally get to see Ms. Fury. Would highly recommend!

True genuis! And a bonus dvd - at last - well worth the wait.

Yet another wonderful cd from the lovely Ms Fury. And finally, after waiting for what seems like ages, a dvd to go with it! The cd is excellent. So refreshing to find an artist that is "out there on her own". In today's music world where nearly everybody sounds (and looks) the same it is such a relief to find someone with the strength to be different and have the talent to pull it off. I look forward to many more releases and perhaps even more dvds? Please! Carina
