San Diego based recording artist and composer David Hansen has created an inspiring collection of music, ranging in style from unique jazz/pop originals to film scores. His jazzy compositions, pop sensibility and musical virtuosity are critical elements that have built his musical legacy for many years. Throughout his career, Hansen has amassed a large body of original work that includes songs, jazz pieces, promotional sales music, film music and an extensive portfolio of concert art music. This diverse body of work and rich musical background are the foundations for his strength as a recording artist and his performance ability. He currently offers two new CD's, "All That I Could Give," a blend of songs that are tinged with his signature jazz/pop sound, and "Cosmic Cola" a collection of ornamentally crafted spiritual songs that inspire the soul and calm the mind. Hansen is currently performing around the greater San Diego area.

A recent transplant to San Diego, Hansen is a Chicago native with extensive performing experience at numerous venues throughout California, Illinois and Michigan, both in bands and as a solo pianist. He received a master's degree in music composition in 1984 from Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, where he served as pianist for the prestigious vocal jazz group, "Gold Company". While going to school, he also performed jazz and popular music around town, engaging local audiences with his distinctive sound. His robust educational experience in music also includes studies of film scoring at UCLA. He has utilized this valuable knowledge to score numerous film cues, which adds to his diverse palette of musical abilities.

The possibilities of music are endless, and the desire of audiences to hear great original compositions is immense. Hansen is inspired by this desire for fresh ideas and strives to create well crafted, unique sounding, and meaningful music.
