Album Notes

Hans Glawischnig is a sought-after bassist with more than 50 album appearances to his credit.Originally from Austria, Hans started playing violin at age 6, then switched to bass in his early teens. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1992 and received his M.A. from Manhattan School of Music in 1994. After playing with Bobby Watson and Maynard Ferguson in 1995, Hans made a critical connection when he joined Ray Barretto's sextet in 1996, which led to a long association with David Sanchez' acclaimed groups. Since then, Hans has performed with a plethora of musicians, including James Moody,Ravi Coltrane,Brian Lynch,Joe Locke, Claudia Acuna, Billy Childs,to name a few, and released his debut CD, 'Common Ground', on the Fresh Sounds label in 2003. In 2006 Chick Corea invited Hans to participate in the premiere of the pianists 2nd piano concerto, 'The Continents'.
