Album Notes

A sometimes rollicking, sometimes gentle, introduction to the concept of green practices that take care of our planet. Kids (and parents) will be singing along with Hans on tunes about solar energy and wind power, farmers markets, clean water and air, habitat, playing outside, and appreciating and caring for our world. Hans and backup singers, including elementary age school kids, provide the warm vocals. The band plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, and upright bass, with a sometimes blue-grass flavor to the original songs. Awards for this album include: 2009 Creative Child Magazine Green Album of the Year, a 2009 Partents' Choice Recommended Title Award, and currently a finalist for Children's Album of the Year in the 2010 Independent Music Awards.

Hans Mayer plays ear-tickling, family oriented music with an irresistible sense of humor. People of all ages are immediately attracted to his playful personality and his true-to-family-life songs. Singing and playing guitar, mandolin and Native American flute - and adding sound effects when the song calls for it - Hans has enchanted audiences across the county. His nine albums for families are hits with both kids and their parents. In 2008 his "Funny Little Creatures" CD was selected as a Parents' Choice Foundation Approved Title and as a 2008 Children's Music Web Award Winner.

In addition to children's music, Mayer has toured and recorded with acoustic folk artist Johnsmith and Native American recording artist Bill Miller. With Miller he has appeared on the Today Show, Austin City Limits, the World Cafe and the PBS special "Songs of the Spirit". Miller and Mayer have opened for top acts including Willie Nelson, Tori Amos, Pearl Jam and the BoDeans."You Are The Rain", a song co-written by Mayer and Miller, was selected for the soundtrack of the Rick Schroder independent film "Black Cloud".
