Here's what some folks have been saying:
Josh Trager (music publicist): "blew my mind"
Rob Lanni (Coalition music): "great songs, great vocals"
Lance Ryan (Supernova): "the album is amazing"
Kevin Marks (musician): "one of my favourite albums!"
Glen Robinson (producer - Tea Party): "A home run!"
Andreanne Lafleur, Montreal-based singer-songwriter:
"When I was handed an album from Joel Weber, guitar player from group Happenstance, I was expecting a music group that was probably pretty good but not necessarily amazing. I promised I would listen to it because I wanted to help Joel with booking. So, in my car, I popped the CD in and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound. When I heard the singer begin the first song, I was honestly moved. She had beautiful vocals, an amazing tone, originality and great versatility. I listened to the whole album and loved it, which is pretty rare for me. Then, I listened to it again... Anyhow, I can say this group has everything to make it big not just because of their talent but also because of their songwriting which is very important to create memorable songs in the hearts of their fans. Loved their stuff!"
Having been told repeatedly that their style does not fall into one specific category, this makes Happenstance's songs accessible across traditional music lines. Seeing them live once explains everything! Their live show can go from intimate acoustic numbers to flat-out barnburning screamers, all tailored to make you sing along and leave a lasting impression.
