Album Notes

The writers of "Country Blues", Bobby Lee Cude and Watie Riley Pickens, grew up in Oklahoma during the last stages of the Dust Bowl era to parents who had gone through the depravity of the Great Depression. It's no wonder then that the despair among the backwoods people of the Southwest during that time is mirrowed in the writers catalog of sad songs depicting life's struggles . As backwoods people themselves it comes natural for them to write those kind of
songs. However having said that, the Cude & Pickens Catalog
contains a wide variety of subjects, from comedy to Broadway.

The writers, in their youth, studied music. One the guitar, the other piano but neither pursued a career as performers. Their interest in music eventually culminated in song writing and production.

"Country Blues" 2006 album was first released for radio broadcasting in 1984* .

*45 RPM .The original reel-to-reel analog MASTER tapes were digitally re-mastered.

The lead song "Country Blues" with two harmonies, lead
guitar and strings sets the pace for the album. No frills,
just plain old slow paced Backwoods Country music .
