Album Notes

Mary Macaroni is a thoughtful catchy collection of songs for kids AND their parents. This gentle collection is served up with an acoustic guitar and a generous helping of vocal harmony. Also featured are the sitar, tablas, mbira, kalimba, and of course the harmonica.

A handful of songs on Mary Macaroni have insect themes, like the supercatchy counting song "Ladybug 123"

"…One, two ladybugs go floating
On a yellow breeze
Then in the trees
A tiny sneeze
A ladybug with allergies
One plus two equals three…"

Jam out and sing-along, or start the disc from "Bumblebee Lullabye" (track 9) and use the remainder of the album as bedtime music for the youngster in your life.

Music to our family's ears!
author: Arjun and Rohan's Mom
We heard Harmonica Pocket play recently. I have to say, my kids and I were 'mesmerized'. I picked up this CD and we played it as soon as we got home. It now plays every day at our house. We are constantly on the quest to get kids' music that is adult-friendly too, and this CD tops the charts. Beautiful music, beautiful lyrics!

i can't get enough.

I love this CD so much, that I begged my mom to have keeth play at my birthday, (it's really all I cared about.) I ask my mom to put in the mary macaroni cd EVERY SINGLE time we are in the car, and I know almost all the words. My mom even listens to the CD when I'm not in the car (usually she realizes that I'm out of the car half way to work before she realizes she doesn't HAVE to listen to the firefly song one more time!) thanks so much keeth, for teaching us about brushing the teeth, numbers, etc. It settles lots of brushing teeth battles if I just say that "keeth with the teeth says you must always brush your teeth!"

Just what little ears want to hear!
author: Lara Green
We want to do everything right for our 7-month-old, Tate. Lots of fresh air, we read books everyday, give him as many fruits and veggies as he will eat - and music! Music plays all day long in our house - and Mary Macaroni is our favorite. It sets just the right mood - it has the repetition that babies need to learn and feel safe in their world, and some unexpected surprises, too (a ladybug with allergies?? a song that swings like a wrecking ball??). I really appreciate the moments of non-traditional rhythms and instrumentation - this is unlike any other children's CD out there. Our boy Tate really listens to this CD. He quiets down, tunes in, and really loves the music. What an important gift to give to our new little person!

A mellow, yet engaging album with catchy tunes and singable lyrics.
author: Joseph's Mummy
My 3-year old son absolutely loves this CD. He asks for it every night before he goes to sleep and also during the day. It's mellow enough to soothe him to sleep, but there are also some catchy numbers that he likes to "jam" too. We particularly like the lyrics because they are well-written, but kid friendly so he can sing along. Thank goodness he now has some "real" music that we can all listen to and enjoy!
