Album Notes

The members of Harmony Heifers hail from Arizona and California and are the confluence of two groups -- the acapella vocal group Duras Sisters and Jeff & Maya Bohnhoff. The players met at a science fiction convention in Seattle and forged a friendship that resulted in this rare musical melange.

We know you'll enjoy this extremely ecclectic mix of songs -- from the show-stoppers Broken Goddess, Leather Pants of Evil and Bride of Chaotica, to the R&B Elvis' House of Love, to a couple of neat acapella pieces.

The Heifers have also covered Only the Music by Heather Alexander, songs penned by Debbie Baudouin, Larry Warner, Nancy Freeman, and by the Heifers themselves.

A great find

I heard about this album on the Firefly Filk Yahoo group--for the song "Companion." So I came over to see what else it had, and discovered that it had two songs I really wanted--Talis Kimberley's "Ancient Sky" and "The Inner Light." So I bought it instantly. Popped it into my CD player, and discovered after listening to it a few times that my actual favorite was "Broken Goddess." Even though I'm not a Buffy fan, I love "Leather Pants of Evil." "The Nature of Things" is awfully catchy--I had to stop listening to it because "One sock, two sox, red sock, blue" kept getting stuck in my head. So this one is definitely a keeper!
