Album Notes

Lamar Harris comes with a background of strong beliefs in God, Family, and Country. He has developed over the years into your “sit on the front porch, strummin’ a guitar, make up a song as you go kinda country singer”. He has a knack for mixing country with comedy. He started playing the guitar at age 13.

Born in Blackshear to Howard and Loleta Harris, he was raised the second of eight children. Music has always been a part of his life. He was also a member of the award winning Harris Brother Quartet….a gospel quartet that was well-known and sang throughout south Georgia. The “All Night Gospel Sing” held annually in Waycross, Georgia was one of the groups’ favorite events. Lamar graduated high school and joined the Marine Corps. Since then he has worked various jobs including truck driver, journeyman lineman, construction manager, emergency medical technician, chemical technician and a certified police officer.

A number of people have significantly influenced his interest in country music. His children; Josh, Jason and Diane, his wife, Michelle, his father,Howard. His wife & father teamed up to give Lamar the push he needed to record his song “The Lottery Truck”. In January 1999 promotion of this song was delayed when Michelle was diagnosed with cancer. Lamar’s devotion and attention turned to Michelle. Even in her condition, Michelle insisted that he continue his efforts to perform and promote the song. Michelle died in August, 2001.

Now Lamar is more determined than ever to make their dream come true! He has recorded and copyrighted "The Lottery Truck" CD in Nashville.
His goal is to make "The Lottery Truck" song...
