Tasteful, powerful, and relaxed: That's the Steve Harris & Friends' way

For more down home music, one only has to look as far as Camano Island, Washington to take a listen to Steve Harris & Friends. Here On Island Time (Big Quack) is a title I can appreciate, for anyone who has ever been raised on an island knows that things move on its own leisurely pace. The music represents that pace beautifully, with folk, country, and a bit of blues and rock every now and then, along with the 'ukulele to play melodies that honor one island from another.
As for the rock they play, it's more country rock, and they do it tastefully. It makes you want to travel their way and be able to experience the world from their point of view,, maybe jam throughout the night on songs unknown. Another example of the great music the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

A different sound for Steve .. I like it!

I've known Steve's music since the mid-1980's and watched it evolve into what it is today. This album has a very different tone than previous works but adds polish and clarity. Here On Island Time (the song) is one of my favorites and it paints what I believe is THE PICTURE Steve was going for. Well done!
