This EP is The Hartwells' first studio recording, featuring seven toe-tapping tunes including the popular anthems "Mr. Saturday" and "A Story Is Told," which tackle such essentially human topics as over-indulgence and pork-and-noodle casseroles, respectively. All tracks were recorded live in the studio on May 7th, 2005 in New York City.
The Hartwells are a dynamic New York City-based rock group, whose members fuse the rich musical heritage of Nashville, with the brash, inventive Boston tongue, and the throbbing pulse of New York, resulting in characteristically zealous live performances and polished studio recordings. They play original tunes with an upbeat, funky, decidedly feel-good vibe. They have been compared, by a loyal fan or two, to an effervescent Sublime intermixed with some Les Claypool literary lyrical weirdness slapped atop a bohemian bedrock of imaginative bass beats, horn riffs, and harmonica blows. The crew has been playing live in New York City and in the New England area for over two years. Please give the tunes a listen, and get ready to rock!
