Harvey Reid has gained acclaim as a singer, songwriter, autoharp, mandolin, bouzouki and 6-string banjo player, but his solo guitar work really sets him apart from the pack. Since winning the National Fingerpicking Guitar shampionship in 1981, he has recorded a string of 25 albums of original, traditional and contemporary acoustic music, mostly centered around his acoustic guitar. This collection showcases tracks instrumental tracks he released on Woodpecker Records between 1986 and 2000, that feature his fingerstyle compositions and arrangements of traditional melodies. They were remixed and remastered in 2010 and have previously only been available on CD. His command of blues, bluegrass, celtic, ragtime, old-time and classical guitar skills is unmatched, and his body of guitar work, musicianship and creativity carves a distinctive niche in the American acoustic music landscape.
