Multifaceted bassist Harvie S is a bandleader, composer and producer.You've heard him on hundreds of recordings as a sideman, credited as "Harvie Swartz" as well as 2 dozen more as a leader and co-leader.

Harvie has appeared and laid down tracks with John Abercrombie, Kenny Barron, Michael Brecker, Ray Baretto, Chick Corea,John Scofield, Art Farmer, David Sanborn, Grover Washington,and Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers.

Over seventy of Harvie's compositions have been recorded and his 14 year association with Vocalist Sheila Jordan set the standard for the bass and voice duo.

He has been a a Jazz instructor at the Manhattan School of Music since 1984 and a guest clinician worldwide.

He was a featured performer at the International Society of Bassists in June 2001 and received rave reviews for his performance.

Harvie has had feature aricles in most major magazines world wide including The New York Times, Jazziz, Jazz Times, Jazz Hot(France), Downbeat,Jazz Forum(Poland), Swing Journal(Japan),Bass Player, Bassics and many many more.
