Album Notes

WE ARE NOW ON NEIL YOUNG'S LIVING WITH WAR WEB SITE http://www.neilyoung.com/lwwtoday/lwwsongspage.html

These are patriotic protest songs which are a collection of diverse sounds. From the guitar driven "Six Years" and “I Found Out” to interplay of tenor sax and guitar in "The Great Misleaders" to the pulsating electronics and burst of noise guitar in “Christian Modern Man” to the simple, yet infectious melody in “You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are”.

This album was written and recorded to bring attention to the high crimes of the Neo-con Chickenhawks that brought us an illegal and unnecessary war that has killed more Americans than the 9/11 attacks.

It's past time to speak out against The Bush Crime Family and their total disregard for the Constitution and everything it stands for. Bush and the Republican Rubber Stamp Congress have used deception through fear to terrorize the American public for the past six years.

November 7, 2006 was a day of redemption for the United States, but this is only the first step.
“Six Years” makes a list of all the criminal activities and the hope that it will end before the Cheney/Bush term is able to reach 8 years.

“The Great Misleaders” talks about the right-wing noise machine and how they put the loyalty of their party before the greater good of the country.

Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes", built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
“Fisher House Retreat” is written from the viewpoint of an injured soldier based on several interviews given by soldiers who have come back from Iraq.

“Worldwide Revolution” came to me as I read the history of fascist countries that used fear and patriotic slogans to keep their followers in line and realized the need to fight this around the world and here at home in the U.S.A.

We are all extremely lucky to have our brave American soldiers fight for this country, “You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are” is about the civilian leadership at the Pentagon (Rumsfeld) viewing the soldiers as ‘lucky’ to have his support, while at the same time not supporting the troops with body armor and forcing them to two, three and even four tours of duty.

“American Nightmare” is about the way the Neo-cons “found their man, just in time...an empty vessel, uninformed by design”. The Neo-cons run the country like the Mafia, the problem is they chose Fredo as the Godfather.

I don’t consider Bush to be a Christian but he and Karl Rove sure knew how to fool the extreme Christian Right. “Christian Modern Man” is about the lack of curiosity and lack of patriotism of both Bush and the Christian Right. As Sinclair Lewis said, “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross.”

“Revenge” is a story of projecting the satisfaction of getting back at someone by using other people to do your killing, in this case, Bush getting Saddam for trying kill his father.

We are always wanting to believe that people in powerful positions from politics to religion will do the right thing for the people they represent, of course most of the time, that’s wishful thinking and “I Found Out”.

“Redemption” - On November 7, 2006, America woke up and hopefully will reclaim the country.

Peace, Hunter
