Hawk Hurst has offered his lively performances and residencies across the country, for nearly two decades. His programs dynamically bring the wisdom and sounds of ancient cultures to life, as he offers a fresh perspective of how indigenous people came to value, respect, and appreciate the diversity of each other and the natural world around them. Hawk’s creativity, both in his songs, programs, and stories, are oriented to emphasize positive and uplifting attributes. He is a six time recording artist and his first children’s book, “The Story of the First Flute” was released in 2002 by Parkway Publishers. He is a long standing member of the NC and SC Storytelling Guilds, and the SC Artist Roster.
