Album Notes

If pig masks, epileptic light shows, robot voices, panda suits, seas of balloons, unconventional use of flashlights, amplification of creepy toddler toys, costume changes, hyphens in band names, long hair and beards kind of freak you out, you may want to steer clear of Nashvilles captivating experimental rock trio H-Beam. With an engaging live show that covers the entire spectrum of sensory indulgence, the H-Beam experience is reminiscent of a time when stage theatrics were expected and delivered. The trio, composed of Aaron Faust and brothers Matt and Topher Walberg, are the chemists credited with this return to a memorable music experience formula. Each of them armed on stage with an unusual arsenal and the ability to musically multi-task, the band implements samplers, loop technology, synthesizers, and even electronic organ bass pedals while still limiting themselves collectively to thirty fingers and toes. Backed by an ethereal and organic light show that moves fluidly with the band, their touring lighting technician is secretly the fourth member of the band. Top it off with a dose of three part harmony and clever songwriting and you are listening to the forward progression of live music.

H-Beam is on High!
author: Jeff
Spotted these guys randomly on MySpace and bought the CD. I have a thing for power trios, and these guys pack a pretty powerful sound. The CD is well produced with many layers giving it fullness. Although the songs can get a little bit repetitive, there are some MONSTER chops and hooks on display here, and I look forward to the full length CD to see their evolution - and hopefully I can catch 'em live sometime. I hear they have a crazy light show:)

I bought this CD based solely off of the samples available on this website & I am very happy with the purchase. Though, I do wish it was longer (I think it's less than 40 minutes long).

Debut Magnificance - Crazed Momentum - Oozing Layers
author: Becca Nolen-Gardner
After my "virgin" listening at a friend's party- I quickly purchased the EP to discover a world of H-Beam that delivers many promises for a blossoming career. Fresh off the starter with Oojah's "Bang"- the momentum of the cd kept my ears perked for the multitude of layers that I have since found out also oozes during their live performances. A MUST HAVE IN YOUR CD COLLECTION!
