Album Notes

The Heather Christie Band's "Love Road" is tasty fusion of soul/folk/funk/R&B/pop. To HCB accomplishment, every track on LOVE ROAD stands on its own compositionally, and come together as a stylistically, cohesive whole. Not afraid to dip and dive with dynamics, tempo & new musical textures, the thick, tasteful arrangements will push, pull & seduce you right down to the very last note.
LOVE ROAD was recorded by Steve Sundholm in Portland, Oregon on a vintage analog reel-to-reel machine. This method of recording is responsible for that warm, tube sound on all those great albums from the 70's you know & love. It's no surprise that the tracks on this album share some of the vibe from that era, but the HCB has brought it up to date & made it their own. LOVE ROAD is full of grooves so thick, they should be on vinyl!
So kick back, listen to some sample tracks, & lose yourself on LOVE ROAD....

"mama tells it like it is, & it's sexy!" - Hipfish Magazine

The band is made up of some funky-ass bass & rock-solid drumming (Calen Uhlig/Tom Peake), a lead guitarist who's performed & recorded with the likes of John Lee Hooker & Charlie Musslewhite (Joe Patenaude), a fiddle with a background in the Portland Symphony (Jeffrey Reynolds), & LilithFair finalist Heather Christie on acoustic guitar & vocals.

Better than most major label releases...
author: shawn
Wow! Heather is amazing. This album is better than most major label releases out there. The band is great, Heather's multi-dimensional vocals are entrancing, & her songwriting a breath of fresh air in an industry full of smog. The quality of both sound & content on Love Road is as good as it gets. If you haven't already done so, BUY THIS CD NOW!!!

When you look good, you feel good.

Remember when you offered that girl a ride home after school shortly after receiving your license after failing the written portion of the exam by one question the first time? Remember when your ride to her house was not long enough to build up the nerve to ask her out for a movie? Remember when you pulled into her driveway and shifted the car in neutral without stalling it and she leaned over and whispered, "Thanks for the ride," and it felt like you scored big time even though you didn't do a thing? That's what listening to this cd is like: Hot with heavy doses of tingling insides that you have no idea what do with until you're older.
