Headphoneboy is George Dalphin, sometimes. The rest of the time, he floats back into the aether where he feeds on the collective-unconscious like a zeitgeist vampire.

With several full-length self-produced albums and no representation, Headphoneboy is a musical ronin. He is masterless and powerful; his wanderlust is ever-replenishing.



George Dalphin has been creating music as Headphoneboy for ten years now. The Great Masturbator was his first album, and one so ambitious that its original version had to be torn apart into three separate albums - The Great Masturbator (abridged), its follow-up album Listener, a sort of sequel, and the Elsewhere maxisingle, otherwise known as The Great Masturbator Apocrypha, which includes the songs from the original two-disc version of the album that were culled to make it into one disc (thus the appellation 'abridged').

The Great Masturbator is a coming of age piece, really. It's about love and art and sex and purpose, and girl-boy angst in general. I personally think it's quite beautiful. But I wrote it.
