Barbara Healy’s soulful vocals have graced the airwaves and live venues for many years. She stands in the company of great Blues musicians of the Pacific Northwest and many consider her a local treasure. As part of the famous Taylor’s Blues scene in the eighties, she fronted the bands Hot Sauce and The Allnighterz, and performing with the likes of Mary Wells, James Cotton, Bill Rhoades, Paul Delay, Curtis Salgado, Robert Cray, and The Neville Brothers.
After singing for several years, Barbara released her first CD in 1997 with the Barbara Healy Band titled “Mama Told Me Not To Look.” She has performed at the Eugene Celebration, Corvallis Fall Festival, Chowder Blues and Brews Festival in Florence, Oregon, The Hult Center for the Performing Arts, and the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon.
In 2004, Barbara released a second CD, “Lullabies for a Troubled Planet”, her response to the challenging political times. With a decidedly softer approach, this acoustic project has been played extensively on the radio and won rave reviews, as well as critical acclaim from Billboard Magazine. After a short time she put together a new band,”The New Allnighterz”, and hit the road again!
Last year Barbara put together a project with Deb Cleveland called the “Love Sisters”. Deb’s rich vocals and spirit of fun have made her a regional favorite for over 10 years. She has performed with the Deb Cleveland Band and the Vipers at The Eugene Celebration, Waterfront Blues Festival, and many festivals and clubs in Oregon. She has also toured in Europe. She has released 2 CDs as well. Barbara and Deb have been performing together with The New Allnuighterz to the delight of Northwest audiences. They have now released a CD together titled “Share the Love”, a mix of original songs with a favorite traditional thrown in for fun.
Barbara continues to write and perform original material with her band at festivals and music venues throughout the Pacific Northwest.
